Coloured Stone Jewellery and Loose Coloured Stones

Even though diamonds are at the top of the list for popularity, there is still strong demand for semi-precious and precious coloured stones, in either loose form or in jewellery. We are happy to view, assess and purchase sapphires, rubies, and emeralds in their natural, polished form.

We are also very happy to purchase certificated, natural coloured stones in any shape, size or weight.

If your items are in rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, we pay for the precious metals they are set in, and any diamonds.

We are also very happy to purchase the following semi-precious stones:

Garnet, Amethyst, Aquamarine, Alexandrite, Peridot, Tourmalene, Opal, Topaz, Citrine, Tanzanite, Zircon and Turquoise.

How We Pay For Your Coloured Stones

Following your request, we will send you a Royal Mail Special Delivery pack. In the pack you will find a pre-paid envelope and a secure pouch to hold your valuables. The pack is insured for up to £500. If your goods are worth more which normally they are, then when you go to the post office please say you wish to pay the extra cost of about £3 on our parcel which will then give you full insurance cover of £2500. If your goods are worth above £2500, then we are covered for up to £15000 within our Lloyd’s Jewellers’ Block Policy.

Once we have evaluated your goods we will contact you to tell you the maximum price we can pay. Assuming you are happy with our offer we will ask for your bank details and then do a bank transfer.

Natural Coloured Diamonds

In the past ten to twenty years there has been an insatiable demand for natural coloured diamonds. Certain colours are incredibly popular and the colours in high demand change over time. Now, pinks, blues and greens are very popular.

A coloured diamond’s price is based on the same structure as a white diamond but because there are less of each natural coloured diamond available in the world in its raw state than a white diamond, this means that they fetch a higher price.

We always wish to purchase coloured diamonds that are on a GIA certificate, as they are very accurate. A GIA coloured diamond certificate will tell us key factors such as:
1) The weight, 2) The purity, 3) The shape, 4) The cut, 5) The intensity of the colour of the coloured diamond, 6) The colour distribution to ascertain if the colour is consistent throughout the diamond.

Natural coloured diamonds that we wish to purchase include: pink, blue, red, green, yellow, orange, purple and champagne.

Kimberly Certified Rough Diamonds

Kimberly Dimaond Certificate

Why Choose Us

Our DeBeers-trained, rough diamond expert can understand, assess and work out the exact price of all rough diamonds brought in to us.

For this to happen, we prefer:
1. You visiting our office.
2. We need to see the Kimberley certificate.
3. We will weigh the parcel in front of you.
4. We will individually weigh each diamond above 0.50ct. (Diamonds of this weight and above is preferred only).
5. We will then grade each diamond for colour and purity.
6. We will check for fluorescence.
7. We will then work out what the whole parcel is worth and give you our maximum offer based on current market rough diamond prices.
8. We can then put each diamond into a machine which will tell us what each diamond will end up at once it has been polished.
9. We can buy the parcel from you, or you can pay us for polishing each diamond. We can also certificate each diamond for you too.
For any of the above, it is best if you make an appointment to come into us as grading rough diamonds is a longer process than grading polished diamonds.

We can put rough diamonds into the Sarin machine in our Antwerp polishing factory and it gives us a very good idea what the rough diamond will look like polished. We offer this service to all our customers.

How We Work Out The Price
1. We weigh your item and work out the value of the current price of the precious metal.

4. We work out what it would cost us to produce the piece of jewellery.
We then add up 1,2,3, and 4, and will tell you each section’s value with our final offer.

Loose Diamonds

Loose DiamondsLoose DiamondsLoose Diamonds

Why Choose Us

We can use and will purchase most loose diamonds sent to us. We probably pay more than our competitors because we are manufacturing jewellers of 40 years standing. We have three sister companies which all use diamonds so we never have enough diamonds.
1. www.diamond-bracelets.co.uk, 2. www.howweddingrings.co.uk, 3. www.jewellerycave.co.uk

How We Assess Your Diamonds

When your diamonds arrive we follow a strict procedure:

1. We test them to make sure the diamonds are natural, and are not lab-created, moissanite, or cubic zirconia.
2. Weigh them on our diamond scales to confirm the weight tallies with yours.
3. Make sure no chipped diamonds got mixed up in the parcel.
4. Put them through our ultrasonic cleaner.
5. Split them into different diamond shapes, sizes, colours and purities.

We then evaluate what you have sent in and the current market price we can pay you.

This same process is followed out if you send us one diamond or 1000. There are no short cuts as each diamond is different.

The whole process normally takes a day. If not processed on the same day it will be the next day.

We buy from individuals, jewellers and diamond dealers in the UK and abroard.

Types Of Diamonds We Buy
Most diamonds offered to us are modern cut diamonds, which are brilliant cut diamonds, polished after WWII. We are always happy to purchase Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian cut diamonds, in any shape, size or carat weight.

Uncertified Diamonds and Diamond Jewellery

Emerald Diamond RingLarge 3 Stone Diamond RingDiamond Stud Earrings

Why Choose Us

Nearly all jewellery and polished diamonds up until the late 1970s were produced and sold without diamond certificates from GIA, HRD, EGL and IGI to name but a few famous diamond certification houses.

Diamond certificates are a relatively new phenomena which have emerged over the last 30 years enabling everyone to know the exact weight, colour, purity and cut of each diamond.

Our gemologists can grade any diamond as accurately as the GIA (Gemological Institute of America). We can put the correct market price on any diamond from £10 to £1m.
HowCashForDiamonds.co.uk are members of GIA, HRD and full members of the British Jewellers Association. We are also members of the trades diamond global inventory system Rapnet. Being a full member of these organisations, we are able to see the exact current market price of a like for like diamond that you have sent us. Enabling us to pay you the maximum price the market allows. We have equipment to test for colour, purity, weight and fluorescence of your diamonds.

That is why we are more than happy to purchase any diamonds loose or in jewellery which are uncertified and without a diamond certificate.
We will buy any uncertified Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, or diamond from 1950s onwards to today in any shape, purity, cut, colour and carat weight without a certificate.

If you have a diamond which has no certificate and you feel it is worthy of certification, we are able to offer you the facility of certificating your diamond via us sending it on your behalf to GIA in USA or to HRD in Antwerp as we are full members of both these certificating houses. Once this has been done then your diamond would certainly be worth more with a current certificate. This whole process can be from 1-4 weeks.

Following your request, we will send you a Royal Mail Special Delivery pack. In the pack you will find a pre-paid envelope and a secure pouch to hold your valuables. Certified Diamonds

GIA-certHRD-openEGL-open

Why Choose Us
We are always happy to purchase diamonds on the above certificates and we probably pay the most in the industry for two reasons.

We welcome clients for any certificated diamond from all over the world including Europe, USA, the Middle East, India, the Far East and the UK. No diamond is too large for us to buy. The largest single diamond we have bought in our north London office was in excess of £1m.

In addition, we always need diamonds for our own clients who may be getting engaged or may want solitaire diamond pendants or earrings or may just want to invest in a certificated diamond.

The best diamond to have is a GIA certificated diamond. These are the most accurate certificates so if you are selling your certificated diamond, it’s resell value will be higher. Our company is a member of the Gemological Institute of America.

To make the process easier and faster, you can email, telephone, WhatsApp or come into our office and tell us your certificate number. We can find your diamond with the certificate number you provide us with and then we will be able to make you an offer.

How We Assess Your Diamonds

When your certificated diamond is with us we will:

1. Make sure the diameter of your diamond matches the certificate.
2. Make sure the colour matches the certificate.
3. Make sure the purity of your diamond matches the certificate.
4. Make sure the weight matches the certificate.

If all the above is in order then we will give you our best price, based on the current market price of your diamond.

Diamond Engagement Rings

Emerald Diamond RingLarge 3 Stone Diamond Ring

Why Choose Us

The most common diamond purchases we make are solitaire diamond engagement rings. Our gemmologist Jonathan Williams, has over 45 years experience and is a third-generation diamond dealer and manufacturing jeweller. We are happy to buy your ring with or without a certificate. Having a certificate slightly improves the price we offer especially if the certificate is of GIA origin.
If no certificates are available and your engagement ring is in our office, we can work out the 4c’s of your diamond.

Once we have analysed your diamond, we will evaluate it on current diamond market prices. Then we will phone you with the maximum price we can pay for your diamonds and the precious metal they are set in. We are happy to purchase your engagement ring even if it is not a solitaire engagement ring as we buy every type of engagement ring.
